Dear Parents,
Welcome to a new and exciting 2009-2010 school year! Thank you so much in advance for helping to make the start of the new school year a positive and exciting experience for your child and me. With your support, the adjustment to First Grade will be a smooth and easy one. The children will get settled and adapt well to their new teachers, new classroom, and new friends. We are looking forward to a year of outstanding growth, learning, and opportunities for all of us!
Hi! I'm Ms. Whitehouse.
Here's a bit of information on my educational background. I attended Indiana State University where I received both my Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Elementary Education. This is my 36th year teaching. I have taught one year in third grade, one year in second and the rest in First Grade. Each year has been exciting and memorable as I have been lucky to teach such wonderful students. Davis Elementary is a great place where I truly enjoy being around such enthusiastic students, staff, and parents. In my classroom, I promote an atmosphere of safety, trust, and respect. I work hard to build a sense of community among my students, and I emphasize the idea of teamwork. I value cooperation and collaboration both in my classroom and as I work with my peers. I believe that great things can happen when we work together! Davis is a place where I really feel like part of a strong community and part of a winning team. I'd like to welcome you to First Grade! I am so excited that you will be in my class this year! First Grade will be filled with lots of learning and lots of fun. You will get a chance to be with your old friends and meet some new friends! So turn on your brains and get ready to start our adventure together.
This will be my final blog and I
thank you for reading it this year. My hope was that it would provide
some talking points for family discussion. They say time flies when you're having fun. Truth be
told it has been so much fun and it has flown by. I thank you, again,
for sharing your wonderful children with me. It has been a great year
and I could not have done it without your support. Have a safe and wonderful
summer!
