The countdown has begun but we are still working hard!!!

Reading- The Sign of the Beaver read up to page 75 in the book. Hopefully tomorrow we will complete the book and then see the movie. We will be doing a compare and contrast between this wonderful Newberry Honor book and the movie. A great book!!

Math- students have been creating math games that demonstrate the skills we have learned in Math this year. They are doing a great job. Some are discovering that they need to spend more time on the directions so others know how to play their game.

Tomorrow will be the last day for them to bring things to school and home. They will not be able to bring backpacks to school on Friday. Their lunches only -unless they are buying!

Many papers will be going home today. You may want to send a ziplock bag for their art supplies.

Today our wonderful room mom surprised me with a birthday cake! It was so sweet of everyone to think of me!  I would also like to thank you for the gift card. A special note will be going home tomorrow.

No science test

Please read carefully- States and Capitals test- There will not be a mandatory 50 states and capitals test, since this is no longer a standard. HOWEVER, some children have already studied and would like to take the test. Mrs. Branch will only grade those tests that have at least 85% correct. Once 16 are missed, she will quit grading. The children are given a US map with the states numbered, as well as an alphabetized list of the states and capitals. This will NOT hurt their grade. Optional test will be given on Thursday, May 14.
