Social studies The completed Explorer's Notebook is due on Tuesday, November10th. As your child puts the notebook together, please help them read the rubric. This is their checklist for the items that must be turned in their notebook. Please note that Mrs. Branch said there are more items in this checklist than stated on the calendar. Presentations will begin on Tuesday. Each explorer should give a 1-2 minute speech about their life, obstacles, and accomplishments. A note card may be used (only if necessary) for reference, but past experience has shown that a child who reads their speech totally loses their audience. The explorer should be knowledgeable about his experiences. Please practice with your child. Costumes are encouraged, but optional. Any questions please see Mrs. Branch's blog. Please see below for the day your child will be presenting their project:

Quarters for Turkeys
Davis Elementary has a fund-raiser called "Quarters for Turkeys". All next week, (NOvember 9-13) you may send in quarters for this fund-
raiser. This money provides a great Thanksgiving dinner for those that are less fortunate.
Candy Wrappers
Please send in candy bar wrappers(like box tops). Dr. Mobley has heard this is a fund-raiser too. A great way to receive a little extra money for the school.
